Vic Rattlehead

If you know your Megadeth history you should know who Vic Rattlehead is, but if you're kind of new then here you'll find out who he are. In short, he's Megadeth's mascot (similar to Iron Maiden's Eddie).

Vic appeared on the first Megadeth album cover although the original artwork for it (which can be seen on the KIMB remaster) got lost so a really simple Vic head was made with various stuff. On Peace Sells.. Ed Repka came and did the artwork cover, and he did it great. It featured Vic on some kind of battlefield. On So Far, So Good.. So What ?? did the cover with Vic in a army outfit. On Rust in Peace, Ed Repka was back and made another great cover featuring some world leaders and Vic in front over a tube with an alien in it and holding a green stone. On CTE Hugh Syme had the responsibility to do Vic and he did it great too (he's not on the front cover but the back). Not so "cartoonish" as Repka's ones but more real. Also on Youthanasia Vic appeared on the back cover and not the front. After that Vic was absent from the covers but made reappeared on TWNAH (done by Hugh Syme again) with Vic crawling up from the stomach of Dave Mustaine, it's a really nice cover. On the latest cover for TSHF the cover was made by Mike Learn, which featured a kickass Vic with a good message.

But of course Vic has appeared on several other occasions, like single covers, posters, postcards etc etc. I will here try to post several pics of Vic that I have found over the years. There's some really good fanmade Vic art too, and maybe I'll post that aswell.

He has got a very own song dedicated to him on KIMB called Rattlehead. The thing about Vic is that he can't see, can't hear and can't speak. Can't help but to feel sorry for him a little. :]

Now rattle your goddamn head!

More to come...
